DAY 1
Bondi Beach
The best way to shake off jetlag is by starting the day with a quick dip at Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach. You can give surfing a go before checking out the fabulous range of restaurants, bars and cafés for lunch, then head up the hill to wander through Paddington’s famous fashion boutiques.

DAY 2
Spectacular Sydney / Warrane
Take in the magical vista of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House through the eyes of an Aboriginal guide during a climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Absorb the rich history of The Rocks before a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art, at Circular Quay or an Aboriginal Heritage Tour at the Royal Botanic Garden, where you can taste traditional bush tucker.

DAY 3
The Blue Mountains
Within two hours from Sydney by train, bus or tour, the Blue Mountains National Park offers spectacular views, waterfalls and rock formations. Katoomba, in the heart of the mountains, has a scenic railway, a cableway, a walkway over the rainforest canopy and a glass-floored skyway that you can even travel alfresco-style on its roof.

DAY 4
Alice Springs
Whilst it’s only a three-hour flight from Sydney to Alice Springs, Central Australia feels like another world. It's biggest town, Alice Springs, is nestled by the stunning MacDonnell Ranges on Arrernte Country and is surrounded by the vibrant sand of the Red Centre. The Alice, as it’s known to locals, is home to restaurants, a vibrant entertainment scene, authentic Aboriginal art galleries, and a casino, as well as Olive Pink Botanic Garden, which has a strong focus on Indigenous plants.

DAY 5
Discover Uluru
Alice Springs is a natural jumping off point to explore Central Australia either as an independent traveller or via one of the many tour companies that offer trips to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, a five-hour drive away. You can learn about the significance of Uluru (formerly Ayers Rock) and the 36 domes of Kata Tjuta (formerly the Olgas) to the local Anangu people, during an Aboriginal-led tour, learn how to create a dot painting or indulge in the once-in-a lifetime Tali Wiru fine dining experience at Ayers Rock Resort with champagne and canapés as the sun sets.

DAY 6
Uluru and Kata Tjuta
Experience the ever-changing palette of Uluru at sunrise with a tour of the acclaimed art installation Field of Light before heading to the walking tracks that wind through the natural wonder, Kata Tjuta.

DAY 7
Tropical Cairns
The tropical city of Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. Only a 2.5-hour flight from Ayers Rock Airport, Cairns is home to cafes, markets and beaches with crystal-clear water. You can visit the hilltop retreat of Kuranda Village via a historic railway that winds through the mountains, or relax on the skyrail that skims the rainforest canopy.

DAY 8
Great Barrier Reef
There are plenty of ways to experience the 2,300 kilometre-long Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy a bird’s eye view from a scenic flight, head out on a day cruise, or spend three days living on the water during a dive and snorkelling cruise. Dreamtime Dive & Snorkel combines a full-day Great Barrier Reef cruise with Indigenous cultural storytelling from traditional owners and a rare educational opportunity to explore the reef with sea rangers.

Daintree National Park
The large, flightless southern cassowary is just one of the 400-plus species of birds found in the Daintree Rainforest. Cosmopolitan Brisbane / Meenajin

The city’s primary arts precinct and events hub is at South Bank — a bustling area with walking and cycling paths, pools, picnic areas and an incredible array of dining choices where you can raise a wistful toast to the end of your Ultimate Trip.
